About Kevin
Kevin Hazard is a senior marketing transformation leader with more than 20 years building and modernizing the operating infrastructure behind growth at global technology businesses. He built Kyndryl's global digital organization from launch to 11.9 million annual visits, then led a 25-person global team modernizing the systems, data, and operating model supporting personalization, attribution, lifecycle marketing, and pipeline conversion. He combines enterprise-scale leadership with hands-on fluency across marketing technology, data architecture, AI, automation, analytics, and lead management.
The Kyndryl chapter
Most recently, as Vice President, Marketing Technology and Data at Kyndryl, the $16 billion infrastructure services business spun off from IBM in 2021, Kevin led the company's global marketing technology, data, AI, automation, and digital response operations. He directed a 25-person organization with seven direct reports, including three managers, across the United States, Brazil, and India, and owned the systems and data foundation supporting global demand, lifecycle marketing, attribution, lead management, and pipeline conversion.
He defined and drove the modernization of Kyndryl's marketing architecture across Adobe Experience Cloud, B2B CDP, Marketo, SugarCRM, Demandbase, Azure Data Lake, and enterprise master data, reducing fragmentation and creating a governed operating foundation. The Adobe B2B CDP implementation unified engagement and intent data to make contact-to-account relationships actionable, strengthen account-based marketing audiences, and enable web personalization through Adobe Target.
Two changes stand out for how ordinary they sound and how much they were worth. He replaced a spreadsheet-based lead-routing workflow that took weeks with automated intake and routing that put every response in the correct owner's hands within 24 hours. And he directed a contact-data rationalization that cut the marketing database from more than 500,000 records to fewer than 250,000, freeing Adobe Experience Cloud and SAP MDG capacity and reducing third-party enrichment requirements.
On AI, he built and launched the enterprise "Ask Marketing" agent in Microsoft Copilot Studio himself, giving every Kyndryl employee Teams-based access to guidance consolidated from more than a dozen sources. He designed five agentic use cases for lead ingestion, scoring, routing, follow-up, and progression reporting, and led Marketing's Jasper adoption for roughly 15 active monthly campaign managers and content marketers, avoiding an estimated 300 to 600 hours of manual personalization work every month.
Not the slideware version of AI marketing. The actual operating stack.
Before that role, as VP of Digital Marketing from 2021 to 2023, Kevin was the founding digital executive following the separation from IBM. He built the company's primary digital growth engine from scratch during an accelerated corporate launch, with no inherited brand, traffic, or platform. He scaled Kyndryl.com to 11.9 million annual visits, managed $6 million in annual performance media, migrated hundreds of pages out of IBM into a new digital ecosystem, and built a globally distributed 30-person team across paid media, SEO, analytics, UX, development, content, and localization.
The IBM years
Kevin joined SoftLayer in 2011 and stayed through IBM's acquisition of the company in 2013, spending a decade inside SoftLayer and IBM before the Kyndryl spin-off. As Program Director, Worldwide Marketing for IBM Cloud from 2016 to 2020, he owned global product and solution marketing for the public cloud portfolio (IaaS, PaaS, API-driven services, and infrastructure solutions), managing a $15 million annual budget supporting a $1 billion-plus portfolio with accountability for adoption, developer engagement, and pipeline contribution.
He then led digital platform strategy for IBM's cloud and cognitive software portfolio, directing cross-functional teams of 75-plus across product marketing, UX, content, design, and engineering on some of IBM's highest-traffic B2B properties, and shifting the organization from publishing-led execution toward experiment-driven, performance-accountable digital operations.
At SoftLayer, as Director of Digital Content and Director of Social Media, he built and scaled the cloud infrastructure provider's content and social programs through rapid growth and IBM integration, growing the global audience beyond 200,000 and establishing editorial, distribution, and measurement disciplines that later informed IBM Cloud's broader developer-marketing approach.

What he's known for

Zero-to-scale builds.
Kyndryl.com from launch to 11.9 million annual visits, with a 30-person global team built alongside it. SoftLayer's audience past 200,000.
02
Modernizing the martech and data foundation.
Adobe Experience Cloud, B2B CDP, Marketo, SugarCRM, Demandbase, Azure Data Lake, and SAP master data governed into one operating layer instead of seven disconnected ones.
03
AI in production, not in pilot.
An enterprise Copilot Studio agent he built himself, five agentic lead-management use cases, and a Jasper rollout that avoided an estimated 300 to 600 hours of manual work monthly.
04
Removing friction from the operating model.
Weeks-long spreadsheet lead routing replaced with automated intake inside 24 hours. A contact database cut by more than half without losing account intelligence.
05
A CFO-readable commercial lens.
Multi-touch, account-level, and AI-influenced attribution that gave Finance and GTM leadership a defensible view of pipeline contribution, channel effectiveness, and investment tradeoffs.
Background and education
Kevin holds an MBA from the McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas at Austin, with Academic Honors. He earned a Bachelor of Science in Commerce, Finance, magna cum laude, from Santa Clara University's Leavey School of Business.
Earlier in his career he held progressively senior roles at The Planet, Site5 Internet Solutions, and AllDorm across community and digital marketing, customer experience, finance, and e-commerce operations. He served as Site5's Chief Financial Officer and Director of Customer Service, which is where the commercial and customer-centered operating perspective he later applied at SoftLayer, IBM, and Kyndryl came from.
What's next
Kevin is in market for VP and SVP leadership roles spanning marketing technology, data, operations, transformation, digital growth, and practical AI adoption, at organizations treating the marketing operating model as something to be rebuilt rather than resurfaced.
He is based in Houston, Texas, and is open to remote and Houston-area hybrid opportunities.
